Whether hiking, mountain biking or climbing - the mountains in Paznaun offer a wealth of adventures in both summer and winter. Galtür is a true paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with over 250 km of hiking, walking and mountain bike trails awaiting guests here. The offer ranges from leisurely family hiking trails and paths suitable for children to challenging hiking and climbing tours.
There are three exciting via ferratas in the region, one of which ends at the summit of the Ballunspitze. At the foot of this mountain, at around 2,000 m above sea level, lies one of the best bouldering areas in the world with 160 routes of varying degrees of difficulty. And if you prefer the view of the Tyrolean mountains from home, then simply discover the Ballunspitze via the Livecam in Galtür.
If the weather doesn't play along, the Alpinarium - a versatile exhibition and documentation center - offers an indoor climbing wall for young and old. This architectural masterpiece is part of a 345 m long and 19 m high protective wall that was built in 1999. The combination of exhibition space and protective wall makes the Alpinarium a museum of a special "ART".
Another highlight in Galtür is the International Cheese Olympics. Here, over 100 dairymen from Austria, South Tyrol, Germany and Switzerland present their cheese specialties, which are judged by a panel of experts. Only dairymen who make their cheese from natural raw milk are allowed to take part. The best cheeses are awarded the Golden Dairyman's Harp, which is presented in five different categories.
