The Dreisesselberg is a defining feature of the region. With its striking rock formations, the so-called Dreisessel rocks, and a considerable height of over 1,300 meters, it is a popular excursion destination. The Hochstein is particularly well-known, with its summit cross offering breathtaking views as far as the Alps. The German-Czech border is just a few meters away, which gives the mountain an additional special charm. The "Stone Sea", an impressive collection of boulders on the southern slope of the Dreisessel, is also worth a visit. The unusual rock landscape, which was created by frost blasting, stretches over several hundred meters and fascinates with its unique appearance. You can view this fascinating landscape of rocks and trees for yourself via the webcams in Neureichenau directly at the Dreisessel shelter and enjoy the overwhelming panorama.
When it gets cold in Neureichenau and winter sets in, the region turns into a winter sports paradise. The snow-covered landscapes around the village are perfect for skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tobogganing. The larger ski areas of Hochficht and Mitterdorf are also just a short drive away and offer a variety of slopes for families as well as modern ski centers with facilities such as a Fichtl Kids Park or a snow tubing track.
