Brandenberg is a paradise for nature lovers in both summer and winter. The natural jewel Brandenberger Ache with the Tiefenbach and Kaiserklamm gorges is one of the most beautiful wild rivers in the Alps and an excellent hiking area. A great experience awaits hikers in the wild and romantic Kaiserklamm gorge. A narrow, well-secured path with bridges and stone tunnels leads around 1 km through the narrow gorge. Afterwards, you can stop off at the Kaiserhaus at the entrance to the gorge, where Emperor Franz Josef and his Sissi were once guests. White water sports are also at home here. The Ache can be paddled and kayaked along a 30 km stretch. Other water sports such as sailing and kitesurfing can be found on nearby Lake Achensee, the largest lake in Tyrol.
Brandenberg is also famous for its unique "Brandenberger Prügeltorte" cake, which has been made in a wood-fired oven for generations. The cake not only looks good, it also tastes great.
In winter, Brandenberg offers skiing, tobogganing, cross-country skiing and winter hiking. Families can choose from a small ski lift and a natural toboggan run. Just a stone's throw away is the Alpbachtal Wildschönau ski jewel, which is one of the 10 largest ski areas in Tyrol. Ski fans, snowboarders and freeriders will find perfectly groomed pistes and plenty of powder slopes here.
